Bequests

Remembering Life Education in your Will is a very special gift for future generations.

How does your bequest help

There are two distinct ways you can help Life Education, support our work, and benefit Australian children, based on your preference.

The first is by supporting the delivery of our program to children in schools in your State or Territory. If this is your preference, please make sure you nominate which particular State or Territory you would like to support. It is possible for you to support the delivery of our program in any or all Australian states and territories.

Alternatively, you may prefer to support the ongoing development of our program that is then delivered in schools across Australia. If that is the case, you should make clear that intention.

Whichever you choose, through your generosity, children will have the opportunity to learn about healthy living, resilience and the dangers of legal and illicit drugs, in a way that’s both meaningful and lasting for them..

What type of bequest is best for me?

You may choose to leave a bequest to Life Education in the form of:

  • a gift of a specific sum of cash
  • a gift of the residue of your estate after specific gifts have been disbursed
  • a percentage of your entire estate or of the residue of your estate
  • an asset such as real estate, shares, bonds or other items of value.

Should you wish to include a gift to Life Education in your existing Will, you can simply add an amendment, signed and witnessed in the same way as your Will.

How to leave a bequest to Life Education

Life Education recommends that your Will be prepared by a solicitor, trustee company or the relevant Public Trustee in your State or Territory.

In the first instance, please indicate in your Will how you wish to assist Life Education. Should you wish to support the delivery of the Life Education program in a particular State or Territory, then please indicate this.Should you wish to support the ongoing development of the Life Education program, then please indicate this. You may wish to split your gift between program delivery and program development. If so, please indicate this.

Once you have provided a clear indication of your wishes, then the following wording may be useful to you in completing your Will.

I give and bequeath, free from all duties, [choose one of the following (a) to (d)]

(a) the sum of ……….
(b) the residue of my estate
(c) ….... percent of my estate
(d) the following items of property ……..………..

to [the relevant Life Education entity ], with the written acknowledgement of the Chief Executive Officer to be accepted by my executors as a full and complete discharge.”

Which Life Education entity?

Should you wish to support the delivery of the Life Education program in a particular State or Territory, then you should nominate one of the following Life Education entities, consistent with this wish:

SA – Life Education SA Inc
WA – Life Education WA Inc
NT – Life Education NT Inc
QLD – Life Education Centre Foundation Queensland Inc
NSW – Life Education NSW
VIC – Life Education Victoria
TAS – Life Education Victoria

Should you wish to support the delivery of our program in more than one State or Territory, then in addition to clearly indicating your wishes, you should nominate Life Education Australia as the relevant Life Education entity. The allocation of your gift to the relevant State or Territory organisations will be coordinated by Life Education Australia.

Should you wish to support the ongoing development of the Life Education program then, in addition to clearly indicating this wish, you should nominate Life Education Australia as the relevant Life Education entity.
