Wriggly worm farm fun

Worms are fascinating creatures that are a very important part of our environment. Worms are super little workers in the garden that improve the soil by:

  • creating tunnels that help plant roots grow.
  • giving plants better access to water and nutrients.
  • recycling organic matter into plant food

The more worms you have in your garden, the healthier your plants will be! Learning about worms is also a wonderful way to get kids interested in gardening and growing some of their own food, like cherry tomatoes, strawberries and carrots. Kids can study worms up close in a mini worm farm science experiment that’s easy to make, using materials you’ll find around your home and garden.
