With Harold on Summer Holidays children can explore the importance of road safety, sun safety, water safety and safety around medicines.
Life Education’s preschool program supports children’s learning and development for a safe and healthy lifestyle, through the opportunity to engage in play-based, experiential and interactive experiences to foster their health and well being, building on their mental, physical and social foundations.
“Learning outcomes are most likely to be achieved when early childhood educators work in partnership with families.”(Early Years Learning Framework, 2009)
It is highly beneficial for children to have parents and educators researching and collaborating in support of their ongoing learning. For parents, not only do they get to share the experience with their children through take home activities and information from the centre, but they also become co-learners as well by extending their knowledge – without even knowing it!
"Children’s early learning directly influences their life path. Wellbeing and a strong sense of connection, optimism and engagement enable children to develop a positive attitude to learning."
(Early Years Leaning Framework, 2009)
Our program’s holistic approach aims to build foundations for lifelong learning and development, empowering positive decisions, and leading to ongoing safe and healthy lifestyles choices.
Children will actively participate in positive, interactive and fun learning experiences that will enhance positive attitudes toward health – physically and mentally. Children will participate in age-appropriate activities about body awareness, promoting the importance of a balanced lifestyle through healthy eating, rest, exercise and building relationships.
The age-appropriate ethical questions posed to children promote and foster deep-thinking, self-regulation, positive decision-making and responsibility.
The knowledge built upon in each session and the pre and post activities empower children to transfer their learning into the home and other environments, ensuring that they develop a firm understanding of safety, health and wellbeing aspects in their everyday lives, for themselves and others.
Children and their parents can create awareness of these aspects in their own homes – learning together and sharing ideas. Children can build upon their current knowledge, reinforcing aspects covered in our sessions and applying them with parents at home. In this way, parents are encouraged to share knowledge with their children, to maximise the benefits of our programs for years to come.
