If a Life Education Educator and our mascot Healthy Harold came to visit your child’s school today they may have participated in the ‘All Systems Go’ session.
What is ‘All Systems Go’?
‘All Systems Go’ focuses on the human body, how unique it is and what is needed to keep it healthy. Developed by Life Education with the support of Bupa, this session helps your child understand why maintaining a healthy body and brain is the key to leading an active and productive life, and gives them the tools to make sure they stay healthy.
How old does my child have to be to participate in ‘All Systems Go’?
‘All Systems Go’ has been developed for children ages 7 to 9 years old (lower to middle primary).
What did they learn?
Inside a futuristic machine ‘The Venture’, the Captain and his crew take your child on a tour of the human body. Travelling through the blood they explore the functions of various body parts and how magnificent the human body really is. Children discover:
- How to make healthy choices and that what we eat, drink and breathe affects the whole body and how it works
- That physical activity and an active lifestyle leads to a healthy body inside and out
- Helpful ways to keep safe from second hand smoking
- What to do if they feel under pressure or experience stressful situations.
What you can do at home
If your child did participate in the ‘All System’s Go’ session, we are sure they will be excited to tell you all about it. So, we have suggested some ways, as a family, you can share the ‘All Systems Go’ experience, and practice what your child has learnt in the comfort of your own home!
Download our App: Life Education, in partnership with Bupa, have created a brand new, fun, and interactive app, ‘Ready, Set, All Systems Go’. Get your whole family together and learn about parts of key systems of the human body. Discover how each body part helps to make your body work and test your skills against your family to see who will be the healthy champion!
Take the All Systems Go Challenge: Life Education and the Bupa Family Challenge is helping Australian families find new waysto make a difference to their family's health every day. Have a chat: Speak to your child about what they learnt during the 'All Systems Go' session; here are some ideas to start the conversation:
- Have you ever felt pressured to do something by people at school? How did it feel? What did you do?
- What advice would you give me about keeping my body healthy?
- How are you going to keep healthy?
