Hunting for minibeasts!

Get kids enthusiastic about heading outdoors by creating a ‘Minibeast treasure hunt list’ and taking them on a supervised trip around the garden or park.

Help them find as many ‘minibeasts’ on their list as possible. Your list could include slaters, earthworms, lizards, bees, caterpillars, ants, beetles, butterflies, ladybirds, snails, grasshoppers and birds.

Take a magnifying glass and let them carefully examine some of the minibeasts in detail. Encourage them to choose their favourite minibeast from their excursion and then research a few details (they’ll be learning and won’t even realise it!).
