Retirement of Jay Bacik as CEO of Life Education (NSW).

After more than 14 years of dedicated, passionate service to Life Education as National and New South Wales CEO, Jay’s decision brings to an end his full-time service with our organisation.

Jay Bacik has set an example to everyone who is concerned about the safety and health of our children.  He has been responsible for guiding and managing educational programmes delivered to millions of Australian youngsters as they pass through primary school and in equipping them with the tools to reject dangerous or unhealthy habits.  Knowing how to say “No” is the most important word a young person learn in relation to drugs, alcohol, cigarettes and unhealthy lifestyles.

During Jay’s time as the leader of these programmes, Life Education has extended into more schools, modernised its programmes, worked cooperatively with governments and refreshed all the distinctive Mobile Learning Centres. Jay has been a champion in promoting our mascot – Healthy Harold the giraffe.

With so many negative pressures on our young people Life Education’s positive support for them reflects one of the nation’s top priorities. National and state governments acknowledge the significance of Life Education by supporting parents and schools with funding assistance.

On behalf of hundreds of volunteers and many thousands of children, staff and the board members of Life Education I wish to thank Jay for his service, his adherence to strong values and his absolute commitment to keeping Aussie kids safe, and to Healthy Harold and Life Education. We wish him well in the future.
