Ocsober - 2 weeks in

Today marks two weeks since thousands of Australians gave up alcohol for Life Education’s annual Ocsober campaign.

“We are thankful for the support of the thousands of Aussies who are losing the booze this October. With their help we can reach more communities in every state across the country,” said Life Education CEO David Ballhausen.

Here’s what a few of those students have to say:

“Thank you Life Education for teaching us to respect alcohol by telling us about the consequences of binge drinking at any age.”
Aiden, Year 6

“Alcohol is a drug and can destroy your life and friendships and relationships. You have taught me that because someone else is drinking doesn’t mean you have to. ”
Liona, Year 6

“Life Education has dedicated their time to make sure I don’t make mistakes and risk my life.”
Ceara, Year 7

“Before I came to Life Education I never knew that alcohol has such harmful effects on our bodies, especially the brain. I think the most important thing I leaned was how to say no and walk away. Coming to the Life Education van is always one of the highlights of the school year.”
Kristy, Year 6

“I hope the Life Education program continues on forever.”
Tayla, Year 7

“These lessons will help me make better and safer choices in life.”
Indy, Year 6

It’s not too late to register yourself or a team for this year’s Ocsober, with registrations remaining open throughout the month.
