Not ready for school

Around 250,000 four and five year olds will start school in 2015. However, a national survey of school readiness found that one-in-five don't have the social, emotional or language skills to cope in the classroom.

Using the expertise of its staff who work with children and families, The Benevolent Society has created easy to follow guidelines on school readiness and helpful tips for parents on preparing for school.
