National CEO Kellie Sloane takes a leave of absence

The Directors of Life Education Australia [Life Ed] confirm National CEO Kellie Sloane will take a leave of absence effectively immediately. Kellie has nominated for preselection in the NSW State seat of Willoughby. In the interests of good governance, the Directors support Kellie’s decision to stand down during this time.

In April 2020, Kellie accepted the role of CEO Life Education Australia. Life Ed is the largest non-government provider of health and drug education for schoolchildren across Australia. It was the brainchild of the late Reverend Ted Noffs, who in 1979 had noted that health and social issues had a negative influence on children’s lives, creating the vision for the organisation.

Under Kellie’s stewardship Life Ed underwent a period of significant change and progress, in spite of one of the most disruptive periods to the broader business caused by the Covid-19 pandemic;

  • Education strategy was developed together with a significant period of program design and development.
  • Corporate Partnerships income more than doubled on the previous year.
  • Life Ed's cash position improved.
  • Organisational profile was lifted through increased media exposure across TV, print and online.
  • A brand essence and brand/logo refresh were completed.
  • The Life Ed website redesign completed, and re-build is underway.
  • Life Ed relocated office and expanded the team in 2021 by 7 new positions.

Josy Shaw Head of Marketing and Development at Life Ed Australia is appointed as Acting CEO.

All enquiries and communications in relation to Life Ed Australia should be directed to Josy Shaw - jshaw@lifeeducation.org.au.

The Directors wish Kellie every success in her quest to become the next member for Willoughby.
