A huge thank you from Life Education Victoria

Life Education Victoria recently held their annual gala dinner. This year was again a huge success and Michelle Wood, Life Education Victoria CEO, asked that we share her thanks with everyone who attended the event.

“We had a very clear goal this year – we wanted to make sure that every person in the room knew why we were all there – we wanted to be on-message, ensuring we informed everyone of the importance of our work... and we did just that.

We started our event with a powerful presentation with strong music to capture our guests attention and to enthral them; we introduced the room to Gavin Crosisca who very courageously shared his story of living with addiction; we engaged with Mick Stephenson from Ambulance Victoria who spoke about the realities that our frontline workers face daily, and his clear and thought-provoking words led fittingly into Les Twentyman OAM who was able to regale with just a little of his experience, and why he believes in Life Education and the work we do.

Les introduced the very talented and exceptionally cute Ferntree Gully North Primary School Students who performed for our guests, and no-one in the room has any doubt as to why we were all there.

David Mann OAM FAICD was our illustrious MC and did a brilliant job throughout the night. The Young Australian Broadway Chorus entertained twice, and their energy and vigour was infectious.

We were brilliantly entertained by the exceptional Matt O’Connor and his band, Stand Clear. Our main auction and table draw was very ably run by Luke Patterson, Shane Dunemann and Lindsay Beer, with guest appearances by our Board Chair, Andrew Bennetto and great supporter Tony Romano; Steve Moneghetti AM our ambassador helped with our GiRaffle and Paul Wheelton OAM presented Phil Taylor from our extremely generous, and much valued sponsors Isuzu Australia with a plaque of appreciation for their recent donation of a tow truck.

Our audio-visual and room atmosphere was superbly managed by Peter O’Connor who donates his time and expertise every year, and back-of-house was diligently coordinated by Trevor Wood.

Chris Kalandadse enabled Harold to give lovely hugs, and a team provided by Phillip Nikolitsis assisted our guests at their tables; our staff and team volunteered their time, enthusiasm and passion - and their families, with husbands, sons, daughters and nieces helping out; and all of our wonderful, generous and engaged guests enjoyed excellent food, a warm environment, and a strong, positive atmosphere.

Every Corporate partner and table is valued; every guest welcomed; every donation appreciated and every purchase helpful and we thank you all so very much! The best part of the night was the laughter – we made people happy; we had a positive impact and we provided a memory... a memory which we hope will allow us to stay in touch, and hopefully, to meet every person again very soon.”
