Life Education is Queensland’s largest children's charity providing health education to students right across the state, from prep to high school. Our student-focused education program covers health, smoking, drugs, nutrition, exercise, cybersafety and more!
These days, children and young people face more challenges than ever before.
Life Education Queensland believes in prevention through education.
By providing young people with education, we can empower them to make the safer and healthier choices.
Our education programs have been designed to be practical and student-focused.
Our Educators visit schools all over Queensland. We deliver our programs in the classroom, or in our state-of-the-art Mobile Learning Centres.
Using our iconic mascot Healthy Harold the giraffe, we connect with kids aged 3-17 years of age. Our yearly school visits are a highlight for students and teachers alike! You can view all the programs we currently offer here.
This May, Healthy Harold is challenging Queenslanders to walk, run or ride 100ks in 20 days to stamp out bullying. That’s 5ks a day!
The Healthy Harold Hundred is your chance to push your limits and set a new personal best alongside friends and family. Registration will be open to all ages, and teams can each take on the 100k challenge as individuals or split the distance across your group.
The Healthy Harold Hundred isn’t just about getting active. The challenge will also raise vital funds so that more children can have access to Life Education Queensland’s respectful relationships programs to break the cycle of bullying.
The Healthy Harold Hundred opens soon. Register your interest now!
I learnt about what healthy choices I should make in my life. For example about the things that smoking does to your body, the importance of being active, being cyber safe and how to eat healthy! It made me think about the choices I should make to make my life a happy and healthy one. Life Education helped me to feel good about myself and helped me to feel strong in my choices.
I learnt about drugs and how dangerous they can actually be and I also learnt that you need to be very safe where there is alcohol.
The most important things I learnt was about illegal drugs and how they can change your life if you get addicted to them. So it's important to stay active, healthy and involved in all the activities that schools have to offer.
“Having Harold and his team visit the school, providing our students with a hands-on, multimedia presentation that promotes healthy living and positive choices, is recognised as being of great value.”
“The underlying message of the Life Education program, whereby children learn to truly appreciate the wonder of the human body and therefore to treat it with respect, whether it be their own or someone else's, is very powerfully presented.
There is no other such program available for primary school students.”
“The Life Education program enhances the ‘Health and Wellbeing’ component of our curriculum, as it provides up to date information about health and drug issues at age-appropriate levels.”
“The Life Education program has been an integral part of our Health & Physical Education curriculum for a number of years.
All students of Our Lady of Rosary attend the sessions each year as they provide valuable information presented in an appropriate age-related manner.”
“The educator was very good at motivating and guiding the children through the activities. All activities were at the appropriate level of learning and enabled the children to be engaged in the learning experience. Most of all, the children had FUN learning!”
