Healthy Harold and friends unite for hugely successful Family Fun Day

Thursday, 03 March 2016

Life Education NSW held the inaugural Healthy Harold’s Family Fun Day on Sunday February 21st, 2016.

The day was an enormous success with special guests and local families joining in on the fun. After opening up their doors for the first time in 35 years, staff at Life Education NSW were overwhelmed by the response by the locals and are committed to holding the community event annually.

Former footballer and Souths Cares ambassador, Rhys Wesser led children through a ‘pass the ball’ activity, The Knafeh Bakery entertained the crowds with their playful humour and catchy music and long-time Life Education supporter and special guest, Dick Smith flew in on his helicopter before enjoying the day.

There were plenty of other family friendly activities, including food and drink stalls, face painting, prizes, two giant jumping castles and rides. Singer, Cassidy-Rae Wilson entertained the crowds while anti-bullying campaigners, Move with AMK engaged children with mini-fitness classes and dance routines.

Life Education’s specialist Educators were also on hand, running popular, interactive sessions for children around cybersafety, positive relationships, smoking and healthy food choices in the Mobile Learning Centres and classrooms.

Kellie Sloane, CEO, Life Education NSW said, “It was a fantastic opportunity to demonstrate to the community the great work Life Education does for school-aged children. Healthy Harold is such an iconic character and seeing children and parents lining up to experience our unique programs was an amazing sight!”

Special thanks to our community and partners, including Educational Experience, Intel SecuritySt John’s Ambulance, Department of Health (GO4FUN), Fire and Rescue NSW, Move with AMK, Kick-Start Clinics and Souths Cares.
