To coincide with our 30th Anniversary, Life Education Australia is holding its first International Conference in Sydney Australia 12th-14th December 2009. LEA aims to attract over 300 delegates from states and territories of Australia, Asia Pacific, Europe and America.
The aim of the conference is to enhance the Life Education movement nationally and internationally. The conference will enable participants to collaborate and share ideas and vision, as well as to plan and co-ordinate marketing, fundraising, program development and delivery. Attendees will include staff and volunteers from Life Education in the UK, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Finland,Macao and Papua New Guinea, as well as all Australian Life Education State and Territory staff. This includes board members, educators and community representatives who have an interest in Life Education's mission and aspirations, such as teachers, educators, representatives from the Alcohol and other Drugs Sector, Federal and or State Government representatives.
The combined international constituency served by Life Education alone is enormous, reaching into the millions. The majority of speakers and organisations represented at the conference will address education strategies on the issues of drug abuse prevention and the improvement of the health of children, young people and their families.This is carried out through effective drug and health education; the reduction of alcohol related harm; the provision of current and up to date solutions; and the delivery of effective health education and training to constituents.

Tony Hasham AM Chairman of Life Education AustraliaTony first met Ted Noffs the founder of Life Education Australia in 1985 and was soon helping Ted put more and more of the drug education Mobile Learning Centers on the road. After Ted’s tragic illness Tony was co-opted onto the NSW division of Life Education where he took on the role of Chairman for two years. He has been a director of Life Education Australia since 1992 and became Chairman of the national body in 2005.
Tony has been involved in Variety The Children’s Charity for 25 yrs where he has held the Hon. Positions of National Chairman Australia and International Vice President on the International Board in New York. He is currently Hon. Treasurer of Variety Australia and International Ambassador for Variety International.
